Third Nazi Plot Tried On Hitler In 1944 Says Lieutenant
Danish interview with Ewald Heinrich von Kleinst details a series of conspiracies led by high ranking German officers to depose Hitler and stage assassination. He describes a February 1944 plan using briefcase bombs aimed at Hitler and Himmler, but due to last minute absences and a shielded conference table, the attempts failed. He notes Claus von Stauffenberg later died in the post coup executions and Stauffenberg’s bomb was disabled by a protective oak slab.
