Names Of N C Auto Owners Sold To Firm

Raleigh AP report states two million North Carolina automobile owner names and addresses are sold by the Motor Vehicles Department to R L Polk Co of Cincinnati who resells or leases to direct mail advertisers. The list costs $8 per 1000 names. The department previously provided names in exchange for Polk filing license cards. No NC legal test exists on such sales.

In South Vietnam, heavy fighting was reported in the central highlands and coastal lowlands as suspected new Communist offensives loom.
