Light voter turnout in High Point township general election
Voters faced a clear cool day as Arthur Utley Jr of the High Point Election board reported an exceedingly light vote across 19 precincts. Officials cited lack of issues and limited Republican activity as reasons while Democrats remained confident. An 8,000 total seemed unlikely, with expectations capped around 11 and a final tally near that mark. Local Women’s Voters League aided turnout with I Have Voted tickets.
