Man In Hospital After Suffering Electric Shock

Marvin Snyder, 57, remained in guarded condition in the ICU of High Point Memorial Hospital after an early Friday accident at Highland Yarn Mill. He fell eight feet from power terminals atop a building while wiring and was shocked by high voltage lines. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. Friday.

Dr. W R Wagoner of Thomasville, longtime president of Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina since 1958, received the Distingu ished Service Citation from Wake Forest University Alumni Assn. under his leadership the agency expanded statewide offering group and foster care, maternity, therapeutic camping, day care, and counseling. Others honored include Sen Robert Morgan and Dr James Spencer for law and medical work and Dr Bruce Whitaker for education.

Jamestown Profits Up Despite ABC Revenue Drop 1976-77

Jamestown's 1976-77 audit shows total town income exceeded budget though the Alcoholic Beverage Control Store contributed about $12,000 less than the prior year. Property tax receipts rose to $115,439, while overall general fund expenses came in under budget at $420,844. Park operations posted a loss around $71,000 as weather reduced golf revenue. the town transferred $75,000 to balance the budget and faced higher water and sewer costs due to weather and rate increases.
