Saigon AP report details how Master Sergeant William R. Ikner from Maxton NC led a defense of Landing Zone Buttons near Saigon. He killed six attacking North Vietnamese soldiers, retrieved an M16 from a wounded comrade, and threw back a grenade as the bunker came under fire. Two Americans died and 27 were wounded.
