School Board backs sales tax hike plan in Guilford
Guilford County Board of Education approved a resolution supporting a proposed increases in the sales tax. The action, introduced by Mrs. Arthur Kirkman, aims to raise about 11 million dollars over five years to fund new schools including additions at Ragsdale High and Guilford College. County officials seek roughly 40 million for rural, High Point, and Greensboro systems.

Voter eligible total set for Guilford tax vote
In Guilford County a total of 102,625 persons are eligible to vote on the tax hike. Polls at precinct venues will open at 6 30 p m on Tuesday and stay open until 6 80 p m. Mrs Welch, executive for the board of precincts, announced voting machines were delivered to precincts in preparation for the election day.
