Judge W C Harris longtime Raleigh jurist and former statewide official died in a Raleigh hospital at age 68 after a long illness and throat surgery. A Univ of North Carolina graduate he served as Raleigh City Court judge before 1927 then as Seventh Judicial District judge and Superior Court judge. He helped found North Carolina’s state probation commission in 1937 and was honored at a large memorial dinner. He was survived by two children Harris Jr and Mrs A S Badfer.
