Two Wolfe Letters Found at Asheville Estate
Two more Thomas Wolfe letters surfaced with the old bill of sale for the “Old Kentucky Home” boarding house run by Wolfe’s mother. Found among George W. McCoy’s papers, the former Asheville Citizen editor, the letters date to 1922 and 1929 as Wolfe was drafting Look Homeward Angel and Of Time and the River. Wolfe’s notes reveal hopes of an UNC campus article and a planned North Carolina visit.
