United States Plans To Launch Six IGY Satellites
United States plans to launch six satellites during the International Geophysical Year to study sun rays meteors and space conditions. The program funds 39 million dollars with four experiment groups examining solar radiation cosmic rays magnetic fields air density and energy use. Group 1 includes sun window and ultraviolet measurements impacting radio and climate. Group 2 tracks cosmic rays. Group 3 studies magnetic fields. Group 4 concerns energy changes.
