Funeral services for Robert Lee Pickett city manager of High Point for nine years will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 oclock at his residence 118 Steele street Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery City officials and county officials will attend The death came from a heart attack suffered yesterday at 9 40 am and he died within an hour The services will be officiated by Rev Dr George R Brown Rev P E Lindley and Rev John W Moore This marks the fourth deadly heart attack he endured in recent years

Malolo Towed Toward New York After Nantucket Collision

The Matson liner Malolo, a 22 060 ton vessel with about 150 aboard, was damaged in a collision with the Norwegian freighter Jacob Christensen off Nantucket lightship. It is being slowly towed toward New York by tugs as coast guard destroyers monitor the area. The ship’s hull was holed and boiler rooms flooded in heavy fog during the first day of its trial cruise.

London reports delayed news on Commander De Pinedo, the Italian four continent flyer. After departing Trepassy Newfoundland on Monday morning, he reportedly was towed toward the Azores as a cyclone disrupted his return to Italy.
