Watson Triumphs In 78th Hole City Golf Showdown

Roger Watson, a High Point College junior, edged Ward in a sudden death playoff at Blair Park to win the HPGA Enterprise Golf Classic. After a two-weekend event tied through 17th to 71st holes, Watson sank clutch shots including a short birdie on the playoff second to prevail. Ward, defending champ, faced late bogeys and a missed lip on the final hole, finishing runner-up as Watson claimed the title and his first HPGA win.
