Durham May Quit Before End Of Term
Durham would resign his seat in Congress to serve as a presidential elector if North Carolina votes Democratic. The 86th Congress could see a vacancy only if a December special session occurs. Kornegay and Murdock vie for the successor term, while other districts expect incumbents to win reelection. A special election will fill the 12th district seat.
