Mis-Step Sends Vehicle On Wild Ride
An elderly woman, Mrs. Devinney of 1224 Franklin, unintentionally hit the accelerator in a church parking lot causing a car to roll through a crowd and stop near its starting point. Mrs. Head sustained minor injuries and was treated at a hospital. Mrs. Devinney was unharmed but shaken. Earlier, 13-year-old Jerry Roscoe Carter was lightly burned after being struck near Suggs Barbecue on the Thomasville Road by a car driven by Paul Ray Hampton.

High Point Boys Held For Theft
A 15 year old High Point youth Charles Robert Hannah from Oakwood Court is jailed on his second auto theft warrant in days. An accomplice in the second theft, a High Point teen, is held as a second vehicle recovered near Hasty School. Lindsey Steel, 28, of Charlotte Route 4, received a 12 month term on two counts of larceny valued at 15 dollars each.
