Fall of the Northern Kingdom and Naaman’s Cure
The piece combines the healing of Naaman by Elisha with the decline of the northern kingdom of Israel. It recounts Naaman’s leprosy, his washing in the Jordan, and his vow to worship the Lord, followed by a summary of Israel’s dynastic turmoil from Jeroboam II to Hoshea, the rise of Assyria, and Samaria’s fall in 722 B.C.
