Washington AP The Western Union Telegraph Co and the AFL Commercial Telegraphers Union reached a new two year agreement to end an eight week walkout. The deal includes a ten cent hourly wage increase for all 40 hour workers, agency shop instead of a union shop, and a wage pattern tied to FCC rate increases. Ratification by CTU's 30,000 Western Union members is required and the strike may end if ratified by Monday. The contract runs to 31 1954 with a reopening clause in the first year.
