Minors Bill Gives Doctors Last Say in Treatment

Guilford Rep. James Morgan of High Point introduces three bills on minors. One bill would let physicians treat a minor without parental consent if life saving or condition preventing deterioration is at stake, with a second physician’s opinion. A second bill would waive the Child Labor Law to allow work permits for under 16 in certain youth home programs. The third bill enables state police to use officers from other agencies for undercover work or to fill shortages, not only in emergencies.
