Voters May Get Choice Tax Hike Or Bond Issue
North Carolina voters could face a two question vote on a $300 million highway bond plan. Rep. William T. Watkins proposed allowing a 2 cent per gallon gas tax to replace the bond, saving $400 million in interest over five years. The House approved the two question amendment 74 to 42.
