The THS Debating Club, under American Association of University Women sponsorship, will open membership to teacher-recommended students with strong scholastic ratings and debate interest. Eligible students must attend weekly meetings, show research and speech prep willingness, and exhibit dependable, personable conduct.
Community wide car safety check opens May 28 with about 475 volunteers completing preliminary work. Wilson praises High Point citizens for their help and notes the program aims to check as many of the area’s 15,000 cars as possible. A parade on next Saturday at 9 30 a m will promote the effort with antique cars bands floats and safety demonstrations.
