Senator Byrd said the Senate Finance Committee is likely to approve the highway funding taxes largely as House action. After two days of hearings on the tax provisions, Byrd scheduled a committee session for Monday to discuss sections and other taxes. He noted current revenue funds other programs and would need adjustment if all were directed to roads.
