Racial barriers lifted at Davidson College in 1960s shift
Davidson College voted to remove all racial barriers for admission, joining Wake Forest College in allowing Negroes. Trustees described the decision as a majority vote after long debate. Officials noted low chances of entry for the 1962 63 term, due to full classes and waiting lists. Davidson may host one or more Congolese students in September.
