The YWCA lists weekly programs across Monday to Friday including 9th grade Y-Teens at 4:00, Sleeping Beauty performances at Roll-A-Rink and local pools for swim classes, dance and club meetings, plus Shakespeare and bridge classes. Highlights include senior and junior swim, Life Saving, various Y-Teens groups, and community clubs.
Mrs Hugh Kellam left for Sanford due to the critical illness of her mother Mrs J W Doss. B B Still of 410 Varce Road Thomasville is a patient at High Point Memorial Hospital receiving treatment for a back injury.
The Junior High School Parent Teacher Association will hold its final meeting of the year Tuesday in the school auditorium. Three Junior High orchestras directed by Frits van der Steur will perform a music program. A picnic spot will serve watercress romaine lettuce and sliced cucumbers to accompany hearty sandwiches.
Bride elect Miss Becke Gwyn Blackwell was praised at an afternoon party hosted by Miss Jane Lanier in Farmer. Hostess and friend Miss Lanier will be maid of honor. event included corsage, gift, and attendees from High Point, including Mrs. James W. Blackwell and Mrs. Julius A. Jones. The couple plans to wed June 13 at High Point Friends Meeting House.
The Alpha Alpha Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha held a Thursday night meeting at Mrs. Johnny Hayworths home featuring officer installation and jewel pin ceremonies. New members Mrs. Arnold Voelker Mrs. John Burwell Jr and Mrs. Holland Davis received pins and officers for June were President Mrs. Lawrence W Hauser Vice President Mrs. Jimmy McGee Secretary Mrs. Johnny Davis Jr Treasurer Mrs. John Burwell Jr Educational Director Mrs. Johnny Hayworth. The next meeting is May 23 at Mrs. Lawrence W. Hauser’s Wallburg Road home.
About 100 youths from High Point Winston Salem and Greensboro attended a garden themed sweetheart dance at the B nai Israel Educational Center on Hamilton Street. Six B nai Birth Girls and AZA boys chapters announced new sweethearts and beaux with bouquets and ribbons as Bill Butler and his band provided music. Fruit punch and cookies were served.

Miss Wanda Anne Fansler and Sanford Ralph Smith of Gastonia have set their wedding date for July 2 at the Thomasville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
