Piedmont Natural Gas announces a substantial rate reduction for residential commercial and medium volume industrial customers for the second consecutive year. The company markets itself as economical and now even more so.
The utilities commissions in North Carolina and South Carolina approve a rate decrease to be shown on bills after June 1 1959. The reduction totals about 620000 annually, building on last year's 400000 cut for over 1 million in yearly savings. Strong demand for natural gas in the Piedmont Carolinas enables the lower rate amid rising costs. Piedmont Natural Gas serves more than 57000 customers.
