A North Carolina group pressed for about 1.8 million dollars in federal funding for water resource projects already planned in the state. President Eisenhower vetoed a Public Works bill earlier, but Raleigh secretary Col. B C Snow said projects cited by the Tar Heel delegation were not in North Carolina. Rep Alton Lennon and Wilmington Mayor Wade asked for approval to deepen the Cape Fear River channel from the ocean to the State Ports Authority docks in Wilmington.

He also tallied two Soviet MIGs downed in the Korean War while piloting F 86 Sabres on 84 missions. Born in Farmington Utah, he and his wife Louise Fahey of Holyoke Mass reside in Yuma Arizona.
