State Parks and Lakes Seen as Social Need in NC
Pinehurst May 15 One of North Carolina’s greatest needs is a system of state parks and lakes to offer outdoor recreation for all classes, said Colonel J W Harrelson director of conservation and development to delegates at the North Carolina Federation of Women’s Clubs. He urged parks to attract people to wholesome leisure and noted NC has only about 2000 acres of park land versus states with far larger systems.
