Business Council forecasts sound growth path for 1977 78

The Business Council predicts the economy will stay on a sound growth path through 1978 with real GNP up about 4.9 percent this year and 4.4 percent in the first half of 1978. Unemployment should fall toward 6.5 percent by mid-1978 while consumer prices rise around 5.9 percent this year. The group urges tax reform and continued capital investment, urging the Carter administration to provide clearer support for business.
