Chamber Seeks Bigger Budget To Compete In High Point
Veteran executive secretary of the High Point Chamber of Commerce urges a larger budget and more members for the Forward High Point campaign. The group, which began last Tuesday at a Sheraton meeting, aims to recruit funds and promote the city as 1,096 new jobs and a $4,075,000 payroll have come from 27 new industries since 1952. The secretary notes High Point spends 76 cents per resident on promotion versus other NC cities spending $1.04 to $1.35.

High Point Chamber Seeks Expanded Program Growth
Allred says renewed interest and an expanded program are needed for the High Point Chamber of Commerce to compete with larger regional cities. He notes the chamber budget and per capita funds are low for a city its size and that stronger support could fund projects including the Tri City Airport and regional water problem solutions.
