In Clayton North Carolina a Records Court judge 75-year-old L H Champion said he flipped a coin Saturday to avoid judging who lied between a defendant and arresting officer. The coin came up heads and freed C C Stewart 65 a friend of the judge from charges of driving through a stop sign.
In Weymouth Massachusetts Mrs Butch the cat owned by seven year old Roland Tulmieri emerged from a week buried under loosened earth caused by a road project. Heavy rain opened the earth and Mrs Butch crawled free. The Tulmieri family celebrated the return even as Mother’s Day dinner burned.
