Death of executors cost a young man fifteen per cent
Brighton Texas May 12 How the $59000 fortune of young Charles Haswell heir of Colonel G W Haswell has been decimated 15 per cent in less than five years by the deaths of personal executors comes to light. The first trustees died then a substitute trustees died and a third trustee was named. Each trustee received 5 per cent of the estate as law in Virginia. The circuit court named a trust company to end the emasculation of the estate which has been taxed by trustee deaths to $7500. Colonel Haswell died 1908 leaving $500000. Judge Robertson and J M Haswell served as executors and trustees receiving 5 per cent each. The court then named a second substitute trustee and later a trust company which would have saved 5 per cent if named initially.
