University Men Solve Problems at Chapel Hill
Mathematical students at the University of North Carolina tackled two problems from the Southern Engineering Corporation of Charlotte. The Farmer's Problem yielded 2983 and 2025 as possible answers for different drawings, while The Ladders produced 32.73. H. W. Chase announced Rev. Charles E. Maddry will deliver the baccalaureate sermon June 12, with Maddry already a famed former student from Orange County.

In Atlanta a nineteen year old veteran released from Fulton county chain gang is sent home by Salvation Army workers. His mother and brother in Denver arranged support. the Army found employment for the youth upon his return and the family was reunited.

North Carolina funeral directors hold 32nd annual convention
The 32nd annual convention of the North Carolina funeral directors and embalmers association and traveling men's auxiliary opened a three day session in Salisbury. The state examining board will test thirty aspiring embalmers while 150 attendees observe. Mayor Strachan welcomed visitors with responses from Frank H. Hovis and Walter L. Phillips. J. H. Blue presides over the embalmers. the traveling men display caskets at the Empire hotel.
