Hunt Advocates Tax Law Revisions in North Carolina
Lt Gov. Jim Hunt urged tax law revisions to reduce taxes in places without increasing others, speaking at a North Carolina Consumer Council forum with Democratic and GOP candidates. He called for a “forced diet” on government spending, repeal of the sales tax on food, and higher income exemptions for the poor, while seeking to offset revenue losses by lower state expenditures.
