Thomasville Council Votes to Rezone 73 Acres
Thomasville City Council moved to rezone a 73 acre southern district including Mason Way for a controversial apartment project. The council also revoked last month’s building permits issued to an Oklahoma firm and ordered a refund of fees. The action followed planning board support and a critical letter from city planning consultant Bob Keber. Lynn Harris had filed a rezoning petition amid fears of low quality construction and an undesirable tenant class. Attorneys prepared potential court action to block permit revocation.
