Rescuers Pluck 14 Year Old and Officer From Niagara Gorge
Early today in Niagara Falls New York rescuers pulled a 14 year old boy and a police corporal from high on the Niagara River Gorge wall. Corporal Carmen Conte was lowered by rope to reach the boy but the rope broke as he touched him and Conte grabbed a small tree thirty feet lower down suffering hip injuries. The boy and two uncles had followed a trail down the gorge and became stranded while attempting to climb back up.
