In Heidelberg Germany a helicopter recovered Sgt Jarvis Wheeler age 32 of Livingston Texas and Pfc Ronald Bingham age 19 of Albany California after a week lost in Libyan Desert near a mortuary team. They were found 15 miles east of base camp in a jeep with water remaining and were returned in good condition.

Seven Injured In Five Car Crash On Route 311 South
A five car collision at Archdale Road and Highway 311 South yesterday evening sent seven people to High Point Memorial Hospital with injuries from minor to severe. A 17 year old Asheboro youth, David Phillip Sheppard, was trapped under a vehicle and later charged with drunk driving and driving without a license. He and two Asheboro youths, Gary Hughes and Calvin Crawford Hill, allegedly took the car from in front of the VFW Hall. Deputy Sheriff Frank Dunbar helped free Sheppard.
