Registration July 1st For New Eligibles
Army and selective service officials plan July 1 as the registration date for about 1,000,000 men who turned 21 since last October. Registration will occur at 6,500 local draft boards, a simpler process than last fall when 16.5 million men aged 21 to 35 registered. President Roosevelt will issue a proclamation fixing the date. Most new registrants are expected to be called for training within months after classification for immediate service. The exact method for adding July registrants to current lists was still under review.
