The 1935 foot Oberkassel Rhine River bridge, 12 500 tons, slid 155 feet to its new approach linking Duesseldorf with Oberkassel at 0.03 inches per second on rails. Built two years ago at the old site in West Germany, it was moved after dismantling the old structure. Duesseldorf spent 6 million on the move versus 12 million to build a temporary span. The move occurred in late April per AB Wirenhoio.
