The eight month old World Journal Tribune ceases publication with today’s issue. The move puts about 2 500 people out of work and ends Scripps-Howard Hearst run New York papers. The company opened March 21 1966 and began Sept 12 1966. The paper claimed roughly 700 000 daily and 800 000 Sunday circulation.

Interest Ceiling Hike Approved in North Carolina House
