Orioles ride Harshman shutout to sweep Tigers as rotation shines

Left-hander Jack Harshman, traded from Chicago to Baltimore last December, pitched a five hit shutout and the Orioles swept a doubleheader from Detroit 4-3 and 4-0. Harshman remains unbeaten this season, contributing to eight Orioles wins. The move, once questioned, proved pivotal as Baltimore held firm after a slipped disc scare. The day also featured Washington beating Kansas City, Cleveland and Boston splitting, and Milwaukee’s Spahn shining against St Louis.
