Second Lt. Omar Hester Jr., 19, of High Point North Carolina, is assigned as navigator on a B-17 in the 8th bombardment group under Col. Jack E. Shuck and now takes an orientation course in European theater before combat duty. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. O. H. Hester of 1206 Greenway Drive and attended the University of North Carolina before enlisting.

Aviation Cadet Clifford R. Hinshaw Jr. arrives at Perrin Field Texas for a 10 week flying training course at the AAF Training Command Pilot School. He is from High Point son of Clifford R. War hero Sgt Hamilton flew on rough Eighth Air Force missions
