Car Makers Show Gains This Year
The Associated Press reports Ford earned 342.8 million dollars or 3.65 a share in Q1, reversing a year-ago operating loss. GM posted 800.5 million dollars or 2.78 a share, up from 59.2 million and 20 cents. Chrysler and American Motors also showed gains, while inflation adjustments slightly reduced apparent performance.
