North Wilkesboro AP reports a Leno County man 19 year old John Hood Brewer of Pink Hall was jailed after a single car crash on US 421 near North Wilkesboro. His car ran off the road on a rain slick stretch about 16 miles west of town and overturned, he was thrown from the vehicle.

Track Stolen Trains Derail in Michigan
In Traverse City Michigan a locomotive and four railroad cars derailed after about 120 feet of track vanished overnight. Officials said the missing sections weighed about 20 pounds each and may have been sold as scrap metal. Engineer Jam DeWalt reported the engine dropped off the rails while traveling slowly from Cadillac to Traverse City. The railroad expects to need a crane to lift the engine and rebuild the disrupted track, the first to use the line in a week.
