Widespread Showers Hit Texas and Nation
A low pressure system near the Louisiana coast brought rain across the southeast and scattered showers from the Rockies to the Atlantic. Miami recorded just over a threat of flooding in streams while Deweyville residents faced evacuation as the Sabine rose. Two more drownings raised spring flood deaths to sixteen as about 35 000 acres flooded and tens of thousands forced from homes. The Northeast enjoyed clear skies though showers lingered elsewhere.
