New Gunsight Aids American Jet Pilots
A triple threat computing gunsight developed by MIT scientist Dr Stark Draper and now by Sperry Gyroscope aids F 27th Fighter Escort Wing Thunderjets in Korea. It handles gunnery rocketry and bombing and, in a nine day operation, credited five enemy planes destroyed nine MiG 1s and one Yak along with over 10 000 casualties since December 7 1950. The device promises low maintenance though concerns include condensation dust and vibration.
