No Great Debate Over Chicago Furniture Markets Says Whiting
Lawrence Whiting Jr of High Point dismissed talk of a clash with Chicago about markets saying January and June shows will stay in Chicago for at least five more years. He noted the board of governors has unanimously voted to maintain existing dates while acknowledging possible future changes by the board. The major markets remain tied to January and June with spring and fall shows mainly promotional events and August and January buying by retailers. any major shift would be a significant logistical and emotional challenge.
