BIEP Test Shows Women Equal to Men in Initial Training
At Ft. Jackson 875 men and 825 women completed eight weeks of the Basic Initial Entry Program under the same standards. Results indicate women can meet basic training requirements, with caveats on upper body strength and stamina. A full program rollout is planned for October 1978 with renewed focus on ammunition costs and a unified course for all entrants.
