Two Traffic Wrecks Lead to Separate Charges
Two separate accidents yesterday produced traffic violations. Randel C. Cecil of Stoneville faces failure to reduce speed after a Ferndale Avenue collision with Elmore R. Alexander Jr. of Dovershire Road, causing minor damage. Blanche S. Hussey of High Point and Mildred Y. Moring of Rolling Road were cited for unsafe movement on North Main Street after a central lane miscue. Additional charges included assault with a deadly weapon for Dorothy Allen Clyde McCoy Grayson and Quick, and bouncing checks by Vaughn Smith. David V. Miller of Trade Line Furniture faced Employment Security Law violation.

Forty six bands with 3062 students from senior high schools across the Piedmont North Carolina compete at UNCG April 3 4 and 5 for the 49th annual North Carolina State Contest Festival in Aycock Auditorium. Correction on Young Walker slaying report clarifies charges
The Enterprise corrects that David Lee Walker had no pending case at death. Young Walker, slain on the High Point Central campus last Monday, faced no active charges other than a now-dismissed auto larceny case. A murder hearing is set for April 8 in Municipal Court. Gerald Locklear, 15, of E Green Drive, is charged and jailed without bond.

In Raleigh UNC asked the State Court of Appeals to overturn a ruling awarding Sylvester G. Brooks 2750 dollars after he ate wire with collard greens. The Industrial Commission found UNC negligent for serving greens with foreign matter and Brooks underwent surgery to remove the wire.

Federal Power Commission issues an order approving a license amendment for Yadkin Inc. to raise water levels in High Rock Lake, Piedmont North Carolina, to five feet or less during May through September. A group of campers near Jones Lake started a camp fire off Roary Circle. Firemen arrived at 3 18 a m and doused the blaze with dirt. The fire was in a large ditch dug by the boys and was brought under control. Neighborhood campers remained unhappy as firemen left.
