Grounded Tar Heel Captain Recalls Viet Nam Mission
Capt. Cpian a blond pilot from Southern Pines NC ends his C123 Viet Nam flights returning to the United States. He led low deck defoliation runs battling Viet Cong fire with 17 Purple Hearts in his unit and 1 750 combat hours. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross after his plane was hit but he and crew survived.
