The American Red Cross reports 302 pints donated during this month's Blood mobile visit, exceeding a 275 pint quota. Honored donors include James L. Kendrick and multiple 2, 3, and 4 gallon contributors from High Point and Jamestown, with further drives set for April 12 in Jamestown and late April in High Point.

Principal Jerry Shaver says the theme appears fantasy and the attorney calls for a trial in court, not in the press. Police offer no comment on the essay. Walker was killed at 12 30 near the school cafeteria, four shots fired from a .38 pistol with two shots missing.
City Council and Civil Service Commission review a report on theft of examination papers. The office on Wrenn and Commerce streets faced access issues after City Councilman Frank Smith demanded action. Investigators find past practice of sharing test papers with police and others for study.
Atlantic Insurance and Realty Co. named exclusive managing agents for a new 30 unit apartment complex. Construction aims for rustic styling with planked or shakes, landscaping, and sound proofing. Rent expected from 85 to 125 dollars with occupancy planned for late year.

The forecast from the Friendship weatherman calls for partly cloudy skies and warm weather through Friday. Winds will be from five to fifteen miles per hour as High Point enjoys continued springlike conditions.
The High Point High Point Business and Professional Men's Club, a Negro organization, endorsed Dr Reginald Hawkins of Charlotte as Democratic nominee for governor. The group plans a large voter registration drive and will cooperate with the state NAACP to register Black voters in High Point and elsewhere in the state.
