Engine Fire Reported On Honolulu To Los Angeles Flight
The Coast Guard said a Honolulu to Los Angeles DC-4 with nine aboard reported an engine fire about 1 000 miles southwest of San Francisco. Two long range planes from San Francisco were en route to intercept the distressed aircraft. The 6 05 am PST report noted the plane did not confirm ditching, while officials said it requested a ditching heading as the engine failure persisted.

British Jets Destroy Yemen Fort
