Five Men Held In Bank Holdup
Five men are jailed in Wilson County on bank robbery charges after $27,000 was taken from the Roxobel branch of Southern Bank. Detained within hours, the suspects were identified as Bazemore 18 and Green 24 of Washington DC area, plus Williams 24 Freeman 22 and Wallace, all from Washington. A sawed off shotgun was recovered and about $23,000 to $24,000 found in two caches. The robbery occurred at 10:05 a.m. and cashier Talmadge Barnes said employees and customers hid as the robbers fled into nearby woods.
