UDC Chapter Wins Magazine Sales Award in High Point
The High Point chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy earned the $25 top award for ads to the UDC magazine. National president Mrs. Robert Bachman praised the chapter in a letter read at a meeting hosted by Mrs. R. H. Sechrest. Delegates reported on Mocksville district meeting and Mrs. Hayden announced district chairmanship.

Cuban Refugee Speaks at UCW Board Luncheon in High Point
A Cuban refugee spoke at a UCW executive board luncheon at the YWCA about life under Castro and aid to Cuban refugees. The speaker, whose name is withheld for family safety, discussed her father’s jail time and changes in Cuba since Castro’s rise. The meeting, led by President Mrs. Ruby S. Caldwell, also covered World Day of Prayer services and a May fellowship program.
